For many Victorian fans, one of the main reasons for Alianza Lima's good moment is Guillermo 'Chicho' Salas. In fact, after being named the team's coach in 2022, the former footballer has undoubtedly turned the club into an unstoppable force.

However, in recent hours there has been talk of a possible change in the institution. In that sense, sports journalist José Varela from LÍBERO spoke about Salas' situation in Alianza Lima.
"According to what we know, the group is fully behind Chicho Salas. (...) But that is a separate issue. In football, we have seen different stories. It has all happened despite this scenario that surrounds and shields Guillermo Salas," said Varela on Líbero TV.
He then added: "I could say that we have to be on the lookout for what could happen with the future of Chicho Salas. (...) Once the back-to-back championships were achieved, it was difficult to remove a coach who was at the peak of popularity. Chicho deserved to continue, Alianza deserved a homegrown man. He achieved goals and moved forward. Chicho's story began with approvals and people who thought he should not be the coach, but someone with a renowned and prestigious name."
