Peru at the top! Gonzalo Bueno was crowned at the M15 in Santo Domingo.

The M15 of Santo Domingo turned red and white thanks to the excellent performance of Gonzalo Bueno, who emerged as the champion on Sunday by defeating Andrés Andrade in the final. It was a tough tournament with some ups and downs in the direct elimination rounds, however, the national tennis player managed to overcome and claim the top spot on the podium.

The sets were 6-2 and 6-1, where Bueno demonstrated his superiority over the Ecuadorian Andrade. Statistically, this victory is his second professional title and will allow him to climb to 464th place in the ATP ranking.

It was not easy to reach the defining match, as he had to leave Johan Rodríguez behind, whom he eliminated in the semifinals. Previously, in the quarterfinals, he defeated Georgian Aleksandre Metrevel in three sets. Undoubtedly, the road was tough, but Gonzalo Bueno found the key to excel.

The national racket has just turned 19 and is one of the great prospects that Peru has in this sport. This was his second professional final and he resolved it like a champion. Now he must prepare for the new challenges that lie ahead, as his career is just beginning.

Bueno's first title came last November 2022, in the memorable M15 Copa Federación, which took place at the facilities of Rinconada Country Club. What's next for the tennis player? Participating in the second stage of the M15 of Santo Domingo, which will be held at the same location.
