Debut of Melgar in the Copa Libertadores

Melgar made its debut in the Copa Libertadores against Olimpia in matchday 1 of Group H. The match took place at the Monumental de la UNSA stadium in Arequipa, and the final result was a 1-1 draw. Bernardo Cuesta, an Argentine player naturalized as Peruvian, scored for the Arequipeños, while Guillermo Paiva scored for the opposition.
