The controversy of Matchday 10 of the 2023 Opening Tournament of the League 1 took place in the clash between Sporting Cristal and Deportivo Municipal in Villa El Salvador, where in the first half there was a strong exchange of words between the 'celeste' coach, Tiago Nunes, and the 'edil' winger, Fernando Pacheco.
Initially, there were different versions of what both said on the field. On one hand, it was speculated that Nunes criticized Pacheco for faking a foul, while the Brazilian coach himself said it was all a misunderstanding.
In that sense, Erick Osores provided details about what the people involved said. During the edition of Fútbol en América on April 2, the sports journalist stated that it all started with a conversation between the coach and Jhilmar Lora.
"What happened is that Tiago Nunes told Lora: 'Mark him, if not, I'll mark him'. And they say that Pacheco tells him: 'Come on, mark me then'. That's what happened," said the commentator.
