Universitario de Deportes will travel to Argentina to play the first matchday of the group stage for the Copa Sudamericana against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, a team that has issued a strong warning about the upcoming match against the team currently coached by Jorge Fossati. What happened?
As we know, an international match, whether it's the Copa Libertadores or the Sudamericana, is experienced completely differently from a domestic championship match, whether it's the Liga 1 or the Argentine Professional League. That's why Gimnasia y Esgrima issued a statement alerting its fans about what things are not allowed at the Juan Carmelo Zerillo Stadium, better known as El Bosque.
"Let El Bosque be a true celebration this Wednesday, it depends on us. That's why we cannot allow: climbing the fences, insults and racist, homophobic or xenophobic chants, throwing objects, and the use of pyrotechnics," the Argentine club stated in a tweet from its official Twitter account.
This means that they informed about what should not be done in order to prevent the Copa Sudamericana match from being suspended or Gimnasia receiving a punishment from CONMEBOL or FIFA for violating the regulations and promoting violence, be it verbal or physical.
