This Thursday FBC Melgar will face Olimpia for their debut in the 2023 Copa Libertadores at the Monumental de la UNSA stadium and, in turn, Bernardo Cuesta, forward for the Arequipa team, referred to this important challenge and the team's current situation.
"The objective was to get the victory at home, unfortunately it couldn't be done, now we must focus on the Libertadores," said Cuesta in a press conference after the 1-1 draw against Cusco FC.
Cuesta added: "The international tournament is totally different, we must be very focused and prepared to face this match against Olimpia."
As it is remembered, FBC Melgar is not going through their best moment in the Liga 1 considering that they have only been able to accumulate three points in seven matches (no wins, three draws, and four losses). However, they are optimistic about the performance they can have in the Copa Libertadores.
FBC Melgar's debut in the Copa Libertadores will be against Olimpia from Paraguay this Thursday, April 6, starting at 7:00 pm (Peruvian time) at the Monumental de la UNSA stadium in Arequipa.
