Mego wins three gold medals at the Pan American Championships
The 55 kg weightlifter, Shoely Mego, became champion and won three gold medals at the Pan American Championships being held in Bariloche, Argentina. The competition started on March 25th and will end on April 1st of the current year.
Shoely Mego lifted 85 kilograms in the snatch and won the gold medal. In the clean and jerk, she lifted 107 kilograms and once again took the gold. In total, she accumulated 192 kilograms and added her third medal for Peru.

This event earns points in the world ranking for qualification to the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games, so this is a great step and boost for Peruvians who will have the opportunity to participate in this tournament, especially for the weightlifting category, which has been doing an impeccable job towards the qualifiers.
Mego awaiting sporting recognition
The athlete, Shoely Mego, awaits the recognition of sporting laurels from the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) after winning the bronze medal in the Absolute Weightlifting World Championship of 2002, which was held in Bogotá, Colombia.
David Bardalez, in the 61kg category, also managed to win two medals for the country, this time a bronze. In the clean and jerk, he lifted 150 kilograms and reached a total of 271.
