The 2023 Women's Football League will kick off in Peru, in a decentralized manner, on the first weekend of April. And, a few days ago, the FPF announced the schedule for the first matchday, which will take place between Saturday and Monday.
The opening match will be between Alianza Lima and San Martin. The current national champions, Alianza Lima, will host San Martin at the Ivan Elias Moreno Stadium, starting at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 1. On the same day, but at 1:15 pm, Defensores del Ilucan from Cajamarca will make their debut in the tournament as they face Deportivo Municipal away.
The first matchday of the Peruvian women's tournament will continue on Sunday with three matches. The first of them is probably the most attractive of the day: Sporting Cristal will face Universitario de Deportes at the Alberto Gallardo Stadium from 11:00 am. At 1:00 pm, Atlético Trujillo vs. Ayacucho FC and Sporting Victoria (Loreto) vs. Carlos A. Mannucci, the current runners-up, will clash.
The start of the Women's Football League will continue on Monday, April 3, with the last two matches: FC Killas vs. Academia Cantolao and Cesar Vallejo vs. FBC Melgar (Arequipa).
