Alianza Lima and Colo Colo have an institutional brotherhood. When the Fokker tragedy happened in December 1987, the Chilean club offered its support by loaning players to the Peruvian institution, which had just lost a large part of its squad. Since then, a bond has been created that has lasted over the years.
In fact, on the anniversary of each club, there are always messages from the other, and on the anniversary of the accident, the 'Cacique' expresses its remembrance and solidarity. Recently, even the female Albo team faced the Intimas in the first Female Blanquiazul Night, held in Matute, a few days ago.
Now, when publishing the new alternate jersey for the current season, Colo Colo showed a detail that demonstrates that it keeps Alianza Lima in mind not only on special occasions but also in day-to-day life.
Through their social media, the Chilean institution published the away kit with a photograph showing members of their male and female teams. The three of them are sitting on a sofa in what appears to be an office of the club. In the background, there is a piece of furniture where photographs and pennants are displayed. One of them has the Alianza Lima crest.
"Alianza Lima and Colo Colo. One heart", is the text written on the object. And, although its presence could go unnoticed, it shows that the 'Cacique' keeps their Peruvian counterpart in mind.
