Back to Peru. Through their official social media, the Melgar de Arequipa club announced the hiring of Argentine strategist Mariano Soso as the new coach of the "Rojinegro" team, replacing Pablo Lavallén, who left the institution last week.
"WE HAVE A ROJINEGRO COACH! We are pleased to announce the addition of our new Technical Director, Mariano Soso, who will be in charge of the first team after his time in clubs like San Lorenzo, Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, Defensa y Justicia, O'Higgins, Emelec, with experience coaching in our country and being a National Champion. Official Presentation
The Arequipa team announced that their new coach will be officially presented on Monday, March 20th at 12:30 pm, so his arrival in the country is expected in the coming days.
His Past in Peru
As we recall, during his time in the local league, Soso coached Real Garcilaso (now Cusco FC) and Sporting Cristal, the club with which he won the national championship in 2016, defeating the team he will now coach, Melgar.
