Ricardo Gareca removes green color from the posts at Vélez

The former coach of the Peruvian national team, Ricardo Gareca, is loyal to his principles and superstitions, especially his dislike for the color green, which he can only see on the stadium grass. In fact, during his recent arrival at Vélez Sarsfield, the coach made a series of radical decisions regarding this.

In this sense, the posts and fences surrounding Vélez's training field, which were green, were painted blue by the 'Tigre' himself.

Already during his time with the Peruvian national team, the Argentine professor had ordered to ban the aforementioned color in the dressing rooms, something that he will undoubtedly replicate now at the 'Fortín'.

However, what caught the most attention was the comment made by Marko Ciurlizza against Waldir Sáenz, both former Peruvian footballers who had their moment in the 'Blanquirroja'. The midfielder stated that 'Wally' would not have been called up by Gareca at the time because he does like "the green", alluding to a beer bottle.

"You couldn't play there, goalscorer (Waldir), with Gareca, because you're into 'the green'", said 'Markinho' Ciurlizza during the live broadcast, causing laughter among all the panelists.
