For the 2006 season, the former forward was part of the FBC Melgar team from Arequipa and in a match he had to face the Matute team.
It was there that Waldir proposed to Carlos Franco, a former Alianza leader, to bet on the outcome of that match, where 'Wally' had faith in himself and claimed that he would win and even score a goal. The leader accepted and the bet was a (camioneta) truck.
"We went to Arequipa, we won 3-2 and I scored the first goal", said Sáenz. So, it was time to collect what was agreed, however, the historic Alianza striker was surprised because, according to him, Carlos Franco had a 70s truck and that's what he was given.
