Óscar Del Portal shared information about Christian Cueva's possible return to Alianza Lima. He stressed that there will be a meeting between the player and members of the Fondo Blanquiazul on Friday, March 3.
"The issue with Santos and Pachuca is all resolved, it's going well, and in the next few hours, the arrival of Christian Cueva at Alianza Lima would be defined," he said on América Deportes.
"Today, Christian Cueva has a meeting with the people from Alianza, with the Fondo. In any case, if his arrival is defined today, he would start training starting tomorrow (Saturday)," he added.
"Hopefully it happens because it would be a good option for Alianza Lima in the Copa Libertadores," concluded Del Portal.
This would be Cueva's second spell at Alianza Lima. The first one took place between September 2014 and May 2015. He played 2201 minutes in the local tournament and 114 minutes in the Copa Libertadores. The midfielder scored ten goals.
Regarding his last match, 'Aladino' played 62 minutes on December 30, 2022, wearing the Al-Fateh shirt against Al-Feiha in the Saudi Professional League.
Christian Cueva ended his time in the Saudi Arabian First Division due to non-payment of his contract. In recent weeks, he has been training with César Vallejo University and with a personal trainer in Trujillo.
