The Peruvian forward scored in the closing moments of the match between the 'Academy' and Tigre for the Argentine Professional League, but his goal was invalidated due to a handball.

Paolo Guerrero was close to making a debut with a goal this Sunday in the Racing vs Tigre match, for the third round of the Argentine Professional League. Towards the end of the match, the national striker perfected his aim and scored to secure the first victory for 'La Academia' in the tournament, but his goal was invalidated. The third minute of stoppage time was running at El Cilindro de Avellaneda when the opportunity arrived for the 'Depredador'. Gonzalo Piovi intercepted in midfield and threaded the ball into the area, where the national goalscorer made space between the 'Matador' defenders and shot with his left foot to score.

The Peruvian forward made the fans of his new team explode with excitement and ran to celebrate behind the goal. However, his joy ended immediately: the referee blew his whistle and invalidated Paolo's goal for handling the ball with his hand.

Guerrero entered the match in the 86th minute in place of Matías Rojas, with the mission of securing an agonizing victory for Racing, when the score was tied 2-2. Despite the attempts of the captain of the Peruvian national team, the team led by Fernando Gago failed to secure three points for the first time in the competitive Argentine League.
