Cienciano is one of the teams in Liga 1 that has strengthened the most for Liga 1 and Copa Sudamericana with names like Alberto Quintero and Paolo Hurtado; however, they have also surprised by cutting all ties with Víctor Cedrón, one of the players who had a regular campaign last year.
A few weeks ago, the player explained that he considered his contract with 'Papá' to be terminated due to an injury that prevented him from being 100% fit, but that it would only take him 15 days to recover.
Now, Cienciano has used their social media to send a strong message regarding the player's departure, indicating that he is unable to compete at a high level, contradicting the player's statements.
"Our institution and the footballer Víctor Cedrón, by mutual agreement, have decided to terminate the work contract that united us, due to the medical issues that prevented the player from participating in high-level competition in the first quarter of 2023," stated.
Cienciano about Víctor Cedrón's departure.
On the sports side, Cienciano was scheduled to make their debut on January 30th against Universidad César Vallejo, but due to the current situation in the country and the problems with broadcast rights, the start of Liga 1 may be postponed again.
