‘Cuto’ Guadalupe couldn't pass up the opportunity to ask him about a story that had already been revealed at the time by ‘Burrito’ Ascoy and that showed how strict the captain was with the young players of Alianza Lima, so much so that he had to discipline future stars like Jefferson Farfán and Rinaldo Cruzado with a stick.

"I used to hit them with a stick. Someone misbehaved and I would hit them. Ask Guisasola, your nephew Jefferson (Farfán), Rinaldo, everyone. They went up to the first team. I would say hello and they wouldn't respond. The next day, 'good morning' and nothing. On the third day, 'good morning' and bam (hit), then they would respond. ‘Burrito’ has also been hit", he recounted.

However, the ‘young horses’ found a way to avoid ‘Pepe's' discipline. Finally, the former defender justified his methods with the success that these players later achieved.

"They hid my stick from me and that's why they made me one in the shape of a spoon. You meet them now and many have gone abroad, others had a good career and others didn't understand", he added.

‘Pepe’ Soto: ‘Panadero’ Díaz's slap, his arrival at U, and how he signed ‘under threat’ with Cristal

My people, how are you? We're back with a new installment of La Fe de Cuto 2023. If you had fun with Germán Alemanno, this week we bring you a spicy interview with José ‘Pepe’ Soto, who comes to my restaurant to spill all the hot soup you love.

‘Pepe’ Soto tells us how he started at Municipal, a story that will leave us speechless. Because not everything is always rosy, he had to play behind his parents' back with the support of his grandfather. He also reveals that ‘Panadero’ Diaz slapped him for not wearing cleats in a game. Ayayayay.

That's not all. ‘Pepe’ Soto played for Alianza out of love for the shirt and turned down a lucrative offer from Universitario that his father had already arranged behind his back. In addition, our guest tells how his blanquiazul teammates threatened him with a stick to sign with Cristal because he had rejected that contract because of his blanquiazul fandom. Hold on because we're beginning. Faith is the most beautiful thing in life.
