2023 Family Housing Bonus: Find out how to access the Mivivienda Fund program.

Government increases housing subsidy

In Peru, there are many families dreaming of owning their own home. Unfortunately, lack of financial support prevents them from doing so and they have to wait. But this situation may change since the Government has approved a 7% increase in the Family Housing Bonus (BFH). In this article, learn how you can apply for the Techo Propio Program.

This modification in the bonus granted by the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation (MVCS) aims to help 41,094 families through housing subsidies in two modalities: Acquisition of New Housing (AVN) and Construction on Own Site (CSP).

Requirements to access the Techo Propio Program

  • Form a Family Group (FG)
  • To buy, build, or improve a home: The FG must be formed by a Head of Family, who will declare one or more dependents, which can be their spouse, partner, children, siblings, or grandchildren under 25 years old, or children over 25 years old with disabilities, parents, or grandparents.
  • Monthly Family Income (MFI)
  • For the purchase of a home: The MFI must not exceed S/ 3,715, and for prioritized VIS cases it must not exceed S/ 2,071. For the construction of a home: The MFI must not exceed S/ 2,706. For the improvement of a home: The MFI must not exceed S/ 2,706.
  • Have not received previous housing support from the State before applying.
  • If you want to buy a home, you cannot own another home or property nationwide.
  • If you want to build or improve your home, you must be the owner of the land where the work will be carried out, and it must be registered in the Public Registry without charges or encumbrances.

How to register for the program?

  • Register your Family Group at any of our Offices and Authorized Centers nationwide. Click HERE to see the list of official locations.
  • You must present your National Identity Document (DNI) and that of your spouse or partner, and have complete information of all members of the Family Group (Name, DNI, date of birth).
  • The FMV (MIVIVIENDA Fund) will verify compliance with the established requirements.
  • The evaluation result will be published on the official program portal. Click HERE to proceed from the FMV to register the Family Group (FG) as an Eligible Family Group (EFG).

Important details for access application

  • If the Family Headship is composed of a cohabiting couple without marital impediment, the Form must be signed by both. If the Family Headship is composed of a married couple, the Form must be signed by either of them.

What is the value of the Bonus?

As mentioned before, the BFH has increased in value as follows:

  • Acquisition of New Housing (AVN): from S/ 40,250 to S/ 43,312.50
  • Construction on Own Site (CSP): from S/ 27,600 to S/ 29,700

The value of the Family Housing Bonus depends on the value of the home to be purchased.
