This was the tribute to Cesar Cueto and Guillermo La Rosa in the 'Verde Night'.

Due to bad weather, the 'Noche Verdolaga' has been postponed to this Sunday, therefore the planned tribute to César Cueto and Guillermo La Rosa had to be postponed as well. Although it had less audience than planned, both figures of Peruvian football received a well-deserved tribute from Atlético Nacional and Alianza Lima.

Players from Alianza Lima and Atlético Nacional formed a corridor in the center of the field to receive both figures who, in their extensive careers, knew how to shine wearing both shirts. Cueto and La Rosa were accompanied by Francisco Maturana, who gave them a 'verdolaga' jersey for the 2023 season.

"I'm happy, happy to be here, to come after a long time, to yearn for and remember wonderful things, both about football and about people. I'm happy, grateful for everything and for everyone," said the 'Poet of the Left' to Win Sports in advance.

"For me, playing has always been a joy. We had a good team, which played quite offensive and joyful. We played home and away in the same way. Enjoying with them (his teammates), that's the greatest joy I had every Sunday and every Wednesday that we played," he added.

Both the 'Poet' and the 'Tank' arrived at Atlético Nacional in 1979 and managed to become national champions in the 1981 tournament. Cueto played 158 games and scored 40 goals for the 'Verdolagas', while La Rosa played 162 games and scored 50 goals.
