Resolution allows Sport Boys to continue in the First Division
The Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) reported through a statement that the License Tribunal has approved the appeal presented by the Sport Boys team, allowing them to reapply for the license that will allow them to secure their presence in the First Division and the League 1 next year.
A ray of hope shines on the great port, as the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) announced through a statement that the License Tribunal has approved the appeal presented by the Sport Boys team. This will allow them to request the license that will secure their presence in the First Division and the League 1 next year.
Resolution No. 027-TL-FPF-2022, dated December 28, 2022, states that "the License Tribunal has decided to accept the appeal presented by the Sport Boys Association Club. Consequently, the sanction previously imposed by the License Commission that denied the club the A license for failing to comply with the obligations of the Exceptional Sports Regime is null and void."
With this decision, the Sport Boys team can proceed with the process of requesting the license to play in the League 1. The federation stated that it will respect the decision as it is an independent jurisdictional body with the capacity to resolve disputes regarding professional football clubs' licenses. They also expressed their confidence that the club will fulfill its obligations and deadlines to avoid future sanctions in the 2023 season.
As recalled, on December 7, it was announced that Sport Boys was denied the license to compete in the League 1 for failing to comply with the obligations of the License Regulations by not establishing the guarantee trust, which would have resulted in their relegation to the Liga 2 of professional football. This news surprised the fans of the team from the port.
