Despite not qualifying for Qatar 2022, a Peruvian made the country proud at the World Poker Championship. In the tournament held in Punta del Este, Uruguay, Yoshiaki Paco finished in second place in the tournament sponsored by GGPoker, with a great performance that earned him nearly $150,000.

Yoshiaki Paco has been the best Peruvian representative by reaching the Millionaire Grand Final. He made it to the last day of the tournament, where only the top 15 out of more than 450 participants played, in which other Peruvians such as Diego Ventura have also excelled. In the Final Table, after eliminating several participants, Paco faced the Uruguayan Roberto Piazza in the final. After several hours of play, he finished in second place and won a great cash prize.
On the other hand, in the Final Day of the Knockout Mistery tournament, Julio Chia was the Peruvian with the best performance, finishing in third position out of a total of 392 players, earning a prize of around $7,000, in addition to the bounties he had accumulated.
Likewise, the Peruvian Gerardo Rodríguez had a great performance in the Knockout bounty tournament and won over $1,000 in this progressive elimination tournament that had more than 112 participants.
The WSOP (World Series of Poker), sponsored by GGPoker, was held from December 2nd to 10th in Punta del Este with over 550 players and $2.5 million at stake, which were distributed in 30 competitions, including satellites and tournaments.
The action doesn't stop because, in the meantime, the WSOP Winter Circuit tournaments are being played online on GGPoker. Until January 9th, 18 events that award WSOP rings and a full schedule of parallel events make up the richest WSOP Winter ever: it will distribute over $150 million in prizes.
