In an interview with Channel 4, the "street's number 10" confirmed that he will have his farewell match before hanging up his boots for good, after a successful career of over two decades. He expressed, "Yes, yes, of course. At some point, for sure."

The former "blanquiazul" player and World Cup participant with the Peruvian national team in Russia 2018 did not provide details about the date or location of the match. However, he indicated that the game will be between his friends and the rest of the world so that "nobody complains".

About His Injury

At another moment, the former forward provided details about his long-standing left knee injury, which has kept him out of several matches. He said, "It's the left knee, the cartilage, all the cartilage is gone. It's uncomfortable. It used to be easy for me to come to Lima or be at the beach in Miami last year or the year before.
