This morning, Joel Raffo, president of the club, referred to Felipe Cantuarias and his management in the institution, highlighting the negative points and stating that 10 million soles were lost.
"Cantuarias was president for 3 seasons, achieved a championship just like Innova. The difference is that he obtained 56% of points, we obtained 74%. You cannot speak of a sporting crisis, much less an institutional one. 10 million soles were lost under his management", he said in a press conference.
Cantuarias' response was not long in coming. The former Celeste president was emphatic and urged reaching a consensus to overcome the crisis that, in his words, was caused by the new owners. Likewise, he anticipated that he hopes to see him soon to give him some advice and regretted that Sporting Cristal is lending itself to these attacks.
"Dear Joel, he who gets offended loses. That “I play better than you” attitude only leads to division when consensus is needed to overcome the crisis caused by you. I will not fall into that game, my priority is the well-being of the club, I will see you on Saturday to help you with proposals and advice", he said on his Twitter account.
"Very regrettable and unprecedented in the club's history that the official account stoops to attacking a former director who only asks for dialogue and, worse, spreading lies. I will not break the managerial codes and I will respect the values of our club. Very hurt by an unfair mistreatment", he concluded.
