Universitario de Deportes announced their fourth signing for the 2023 Women's League. It is Silvana Alfaro, a 21-year-old goalkeeper who comes from Racing Club in Argentina and has a past with Sporting Cristal and Deportivo Municipal, the club where she started at the age of 15.
Four days ago, the goalkeeper bid farewell, through social media, to the team from Avellaneda that she defended in the last two seasons. "I leave calmly, convinced that I gave my best and my work, knowing that, despite the various situations that could have arisen, no matter how difficult they were, I managed to overcome them, learn from them, and grow to move forward," she said, in part of the extensive text.
Now, the 'U' formalized her arrival for the next year. "The chosen one to protect our goal: Silvana Alfaro. We go for it this season," was the message that accompanied the photos of the Peruvian wearing the cream-colored jersey and gloves.
The new goalkeeper of Universitario de Deportes has also worn the jersey of the Peruvian National Team in the U17, U20, and senior categories, where she will seek to continue having opportunities.
Thus, Silvana Alfaro becomes the fourth addition to the women's team of Universitario de Deportes. Previously, the signings of the top scorer of the 2022 tournament, Luz Campoverde, an attacker from Carlos A. Mannucci, Jhosely Gamarra, and Alessia Sanllehi, a midfielder and forward respectively, from Sporting Cristal, were announced.
