In his position as former president of Sporting Cristal, Cantuarias expressed his opinion about this departure, pointing directly to Innova Sports, the conglomerate that bought the club in 2020 and is led by Joel Raffo.

Joel Raffo, president of the rimense institution, spoke out about the midfielder's surprising departure. From the start, the head of the blue team commented that he had a direct conversation with the player after the semifinals against Melgar. "We had three meetings... He had his aspirations and we improved the initial proposal," he revealed on Movistar Deportes.
