According to the statement, the champion will receive 600,000 dollars, while the runner-up will be awarded 400,000 dollars. "It will be to reward their effort throughout the 2022 season and to face the upcoming international competitions organized by CONMEBOL," highlights the publication.
In addition to this bonus, Melgar and Alianza Lima also have a prize from Consorcio Fútbol Perú, the company that broadcasts the matches on television. In this case, the winner of the final will receive 354,000 dollars, while the loser will receive 236,000 dollars. Sporting Cristal, who finished in third place, won 118,000 dollars.
How is the Liga 1 champion defined?
Melgar will win the title with a draw at Matute (after the 1-0 lead in the first leg), while Alianza Lima needs a victory with a difference of two goals or more to overturn the series and win the trophy (2-0; 3-1; 3-0; etc.).
