Melgar was the surprise team of 2015 after achieving -after 25 years- their second national title, winning in the final against Sporting Cristal. In that championship, they had a player identified with the club.
After spending several seasons in Arequipa, one of the figures of Melgar was transferred to the celeste team, but his sporting level dropped to the point of having serious problems with the police, even ending up in prison.
It seems to be the worst nightmare a football player can have and he still can't wake up. We are talking about Patricio Arce who could touch glory with Melgar, a team he joined in 2014, winning a national title before moving to Cristal in 2019.
His return to Lima was not good for Patricio Arce. After developing in Sport Boys, he had already had problems with the law, which he managed to overcome by staying away from the capital, with the 'White City' being his sports refuge.
Sporting Cristal
The campaign with Sporting Cristal was bad. 18 matches, 11 as a starter and one goal, was enough for the celeste team to loan him to several teams in the Liga 1. First he went to Mannucci, then Cantolao and in 2022, Chemo del Solar gave him the opportunity to play for César Vallejo.
Vallejo and prison
For the 2022 season, Patricio Arce was signed by César Vallejo to play in the Copa Sudamericana. He was only able to play five matches and score one goal (against Ayacucho FC), before being arrested for ordering the murder of Piero Robles Gervasi during the conflict between 'Los Barrutis de la Perla Baja' and another criminal gang.
In March, the Second Office of the Tenth Twelfth Provincial Criminal Prosecutor's Office of Callao ordered pretrial detention against Patricio Arce, with his release date approaching in December.
Patricio Arce, shot
On January 15, 2021, when he belonged to the Mannucci club, Patricio Arce was shot twice in Callao, resulting in the death of another player (16) who belonged to the Cantolao team.
