Alianza Lima depends on itself to win the Clausura Tournament and, at the same time, qualify directly for the grand final for the Liga 1 title. This Sunday, the team coached by 'Chicho' Salas competes against ADT and the atmosphere in Matute is spectacular: there was a great reception for the blanquiazul squad.
The members of the club from La Victoria descended from the bus and walked amidst the fans, who accompanied them with applause and chants. Some of the players, as a superstition, approached the statue of a virgin, located in a small sanctuary, to cross themselves and entrust themselves to God.
Immediately, the team continued their path, descended the stairs located next to one of the stands in Matute and joy exploded: there was an impressive ovation in unison. The players walked the field of the sports venue and went to the locker room, where they will finalize the last details before the match.
It is worth noting that Alianza Lima has 39 points and is the leader of the Clausura Tournament, with one more point than Sporting Cristal, the closest pursuer. The 'Blanquiazules' need a victory to secure the spot and, barring a whopping victory by Melgar over Alianza Atlético (more than six goals), they will also advance directly to the final for the title.
For this match, the intimate team will not have goalkeeper Ángel Campos, who was sent off last week, while Jefferson Farfán will be a substitute. 'Chicho' Salas' lineup will be the following: Franco Saravia; Pablo Míguez, Yordi Vílchez, Gino Peruzzi, Ricardo Lagos; Jairo Concha, Josepmir Ballón, Arley Rodríguez, Pablo Lavandeira, Aldair Rodríguez, and Hernán Barcos.
