After an accusation by his ex-partner of physical and psychological violence, S. Cristal has spoken out about Martín Távara.

"The institution reiterates its firm position of demanding exemplary behavior from all its members that is in line with our values ​​and the purpose of building a better society," reads the first lines of the statement.

Likewise, Sporting Cristal announced that they are already aware of everything that happened and will apply their "internal policy" by contacting Martín Távara's legal defense. For now, they will wait until the investigations are completed to make a decision about the player's future.

"Having become aware of what has transpired and in accordance with our internal policy, the corresponding procedure has been initiated by contacting the footballer as well as his legal defense, with the aim of clarifying the facts," they add.

Finally, they clarified: "Sporting Cristal will timely report the conclusions of the case and the corresponding corrective or punitive measures."

Angye Zapata, former partner of Martín Távara, detailed the nightmare she lived with him, indicating that there were people who knew about the abuse she suffered, but did nothing about it.

"Everything I had to endure from Mr. Martín Távara; his constant threats, beatings, humiliations, and infidelities. Unfortunately, I couldn't react in time and it cost me dearly. Everything will be handled legally. Once again, they were informed about everything and never did anything," she recounted on her social networks.
