Will Alianza help Universitario?
It turns out that there are 5 teams fighting for 4 spots in the Conmebol Sudamericana 2023. In addition to Universitario (57 pts.), there is also Universidad César Vallejo (60 pts.), Alianza Atlético (53 pts.), Cienciano (51 pts.), and Deportivo Binacional (51 pts.).
The 'cremas' only need one victory to secure their ticket, and this result could happen when they face Sport Huancayo on Sunday, October 23rd at Estadio Monumental. However, the premature celebration of qualifying could happen on Thursday, October 20th if Binacional loses to Alianza Lima at Matute.
This way, Alianza could help their 'compadre' to get their spot in the Copa Sudamericana; and continue following in the footsteps of Sporting Cristal. In case the team from Juliaca wins, 'U' must win their match against Rojo Matador to not depend on other results.
