Although there is interest from Universitario, Ignacio Molino Paz emphasized that Cusco FC has priority in a possible contract renewal.
Universitario de Deportes is interested in incorporating Abdiel Ayarza, a Panamanian midfielder who was promoted to the First Division of Peruvian football with Cusco Fútbol Club for the next season.
It was the player's agent, Ignacio Molino Paz, who confirmed the interest of the merengue institution in his representative, although he made it clear that Cusco FC has priority in a possible contract renewal.
"There is interest from Universitario and Cienciano, but Cusco FC has the first option. We await their proposal to analyze it and make the best decision regarding the player," said the representative of the Panamanian player to Depor.
Abdiel Ayarza, who has played for Santa Gema FC, Independiente La Chorrera, and Cienciano, is one of the players targeted by Universitario to strengthen the team for the 2023 season. Gabriel Costa is also reportedly on Universitario's plans.
Universitario is already working on assembling its team for the upcoming year. The club's administrator, Jean Ferrari, detailed that the sports department, led by Manuel Barreto, is conducting a "mapping of signings, including foreigners".
