On October 16th, Alianza Lima defeated, in the city of Cusco, Cienciano after 11 years without achieving a favorable result. The victory had a great significance for the white and blue team, especially considering the difficulty of competing at the high altitude in Peru and because they are two points behind the leader Sporting Cristal with three matches left to finish the Clausura.
The team coached by Guillermo ‘Chicho’ Salas will wait for a stumble from the celestials to seek an advantage that can reverse the positions. However, after the match against Cienciano, the president of the Blanquiazul Fund, Diego Gonzáles Posada, was asked if Alianza is interested in Paolo Guerrero for the 2023 season.

Diego Gonzáles Posada talks about whether Alianza will sign Paolo Guerrero
The answer was clear, just like his wishes to achieve the double championship in both the men's and women's teams, which is currently competing in the Copa Libertadores.
"Very happy, very pleased. We haven't won in Cusco for 11 years. Today we came, won, and continue in the fight for the championship (...) We still need to crown the double championship in Liga 1 in men's football because we have already won everything else this year," he said initially.
He then added that there is currently no project for the 2023 season and that his focus is on what can be achieved this year.

Former Alianza executive after the racist act against Quevedo: "I hope they take action"
While the match between Universitario and Melgar was taking place at the Monumental stadium, a Universitario fan threw a banana at player Kevin Quevedo.
This racist act generated rejection from several sectors. In this regard, César Pinatte, former Alianza Lima executive, referred to this incident and demanded a punishment.
“I am truly ashamed that they threw a banana at Kevin Quevedo and I hope they take action. Don't let it be like last time when Paolo Maldonado saw a lady thirsty and threw a bottle of water at her. Now they will say that they threw a banana at Quevedo because he lacked potassium. They are capable of saying it, but it's their issue," he said in an interview with Ovación.
