The latest dates of the Clausura Tournament, with teams fighting for their goals (some for the title, others for qualification to international tournaments), are bringing spectacular moments to all the fields. However, there is also the downside of it all, the one we hope to leave behind someday: racism.

At the Monumental stadium in Ate, a great match was played in front of nearly 60 thousand fans. But a single act has managed to generate more discussion than the passionate draw played between Universitario and Melgar. Someone threw a banana at Kevin Quevedo, a player from the Arequipa team, from one of the stands. A deplorable act that deserves to be punished.
But that's not all. Tito Ordoñez, delegate of Alianza Lima, denounced through his Twitter account that racist chants were heard against the team in the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega stadium, where they were facing Cienciano. Another deplorable act that should not happen in any passage of life, let alone on a football field.
Scenes of racism have been seen on many playing fields, and Peruvian football has also been involved in these terrible acts. Here is a review of some of these unfortunate events.

Luis Tejada Cases
Luis Tejada was the latest victim of racism during the match between Sporting Cristal and Universidad César Vallejo on October 25, 2014. When the 61st minute was being played, the Panamanian forward wanted to leave the field of play due to racist insults from some of the Celestial fans located in the east stand.
"It's always the same with me, I won't accept it," the Panamanian said to Jorge Cazulo, who tried to convince him not to leave the field of play.
Finally, after several minutes and discussions between Cristal officials, the referee, and the forward, Tejada decided to return to play.
