The surprising acquisition of the transmission rights for Liga 1 in 2023 by 1190 Sports
Undoubtedly, 1190 Sports surprised hundreds of thousands of Peruvian soccer fans by acquiring the transmission rights of Liga 1 in 2023. As a result, many have wondered about the plans of the company.
In fact, in an interview with La República, the legal spokesperson for the FPF, Carlos Caro, provided details of what is being prepared with the company based in Miami, United States, for the live broadcast of Peruvian league matches.
Will Liga 1 2023 be broadcast on free-to-air television?
The spokesperson for the federation left open the possibility that Liga 1 could be tuned in on free-to-air television next year, as he stated that 1190 Sports will contact all the television companies in Peru to try to reach a good agreement.
"That is something that needs to be determined by the agreements that 1190 Sports will close. In short, all options are open. This company will talk to all television stations in order to have multiple channels for broadcasting the matches," said Carlos Caro to La República.
In the same line, the representative of the FPF made it clear that the goal with 1190 Sports is to use different platforms for match broadcasts and not concentrate the entire tournament on a single television channel, as has been done in recent times. Now, there is a high chance that Liga 1 can also be followed in 2023 via streaming.
