Gustavo Roverano has ceased to be the coach of the Peruvian Under-20 team, as reported by Rpp and Ovación. The coach, born in Uruguay, lasted eight months in the position.

The former footballer had taken over the coaching position of the youth team of the Blanquirroja in February, with a view to the South American Championship of the category, to be held in Colombia from January 19 to February 12, 2023.

The decision of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) would have been based on the poor results obtained.

The governing body of national football will have to appoint Gustavo Roverano's replacement as soon as possible, and that there are only three months left until the start of the South American Sub-20 Championship, which grants four places for the World Cup of the category.

Flavio Maestri, who has coached the Under-23 team in the friendly match against Chile in September, is rumored to be the possible new coach of the Sub-20.
