Murrugarra does not give up:

The midfielder of Universitario de Deportes acknowledged that there was a lack of association among his teammates, after the goalless draw with Sporting Cristal at the National Stadium.

Universitario de Deportes tied without goals this Sunday with Sporting Cristal and missed a great chance to get closer to them in the Clausura Tournament. The cream team is still four points behind the celestial team with few rounds remaining. Despite the result, Jorge Murrugarra does not consider the possibility of winning the national championship as lost.

"There are still many points ahead. As long as there are chances, we will continue fighting until the end," commented the midfielder from Universitario to GOLPERU, after the match played this Sunday at the National Stadium.

"I think we needed to associate a little more and, when we had the opportunities, to convert them. That is very important to win matches. We needed to associate a little more in certain parts of the match. The truth is that it was a difficult match. The opponent is also a team that plays very well, but we have to turn the page and think about the next match," said Murrugarra.

The 25-year-old footballer - a starter and on the field until the 84th minute - admitted that becoming champions no longer depends on them. "We will wait, we will see the results. The truth is that we do not depend on ourselves, but as long as there are chances, we will continue fighting," he concluded.

When will Universitario de Deportes play again?

The team led by Carlos Compagnucci must turn the page and focus on their next opponent, which will be Melgar. That match is scheduled for this Sunday, October 16th, at the Monumental Stadium, starting at 3:30 p.m. (Peruvian time).
