The Avaí club announced today that Peruvian forward Paolo Guerrero, 38, suffered an injury that will prevent him from playing in the match against Fortaleza, which will take place this Sunday, corresponding to matchday 31 of the Brasileirao.
In a post on their social media, the Brazilian team indicated that the former captain of the national team has a knee injury. The club did not inform how long he will be out or the severity of his injury, but they hope he will return to the field soon.
Three consecutive lost matches
Without a doubt, Avaí is having a tough time in the Brasileirao. They have lost three consecutive matches and are in danger of relegation, with only 28 points placing them in 19th position in the tournament.
Paolo Guerrero arrived at Avaí in July amid high expectations. Unfortunately for the interests of the 'Depredador' and his club, he has not scored yet in 10 played matches.
