The former Alianza Lima player walked swiftly through the middle of the followers of the imperial team.
Then, one of the fans hurled an insult at the athlete. Riojas stopped, turned, and walked towards that person to confront them. When everyone thought that the matter could be resolved with an exchange of words, the opposite happened and chaos broke out.
Hansell Riojas assaulted the Cienciano fan. The video circulating on the Internet shows the defender attacking the scarlet team's fan. At the same time, the others who were protesting intervened to separate the participants of the brawl. Moreover, police officers also arrived to stop the incident.
At the moment, the Cusco team has not officially commented on the matter. Neither has the player spoken to the media or on his personal profiles.
Cienciano, Sudamericana at risk
The 'Papa' is far from the title race in the Clausura. In fact, the imperial team has been losing ground as the matchdays progress. Out of the last seven games, they have only won one. The rest of the matches: two draws and four defeats.
These negative results have affected Cienciano's points tally in the Accumulated standings. Currently, they are in a Copa Sudamericana position with 51 points. Binacional (48), Alianza Atlético (47), and Atlético Grau (46) are the direct rivals for the spot in the continental tournament.
