The Liga 1: Lack of Stability for Coaches

The Liga 1 is considered one of the tournaments where there is no stability for a coach. Based on statistics, it can be seen that the average duration of a coach in a Peruvian soccer club is 76 days. How is that possible?

The analyst and international soccer communicator, José David López, revealed some shocking data about the average duration of coaches in soccer clubs. According to the data, it can be noted that the Liga 1 is the worst of all, as coaches only last for 76 calendar days, which is less than three months.

According to this data, it is enough to see how coaches have changed in the last two weeks: Carlos Bustos was separated from Alianza Lima and Víctor Rivera from San Martín suffered the same fate. With different football contexts and for various reasons, these coaches left their positions.

In fact, out of the 19 coaches who started the year, only 5 of them remain in their positions today. This undoubtedly shows us a harsh reality: there are no long-term processes. As of today, only one coach has held his position for more than 3 years, Guillermo del Solar, who arrived at César Vallejo in 2018.
