The final of the Women's League Pluspetrol 2022 will no longer be a single match. The Peruvian Football Federation announced through its social media that the match between Alianza Lima and Carlos A. Mannucci will be played in a two-leg format.
"This is how the champion is decided. Alianza Lima and Carlos A. Mannucci will face each other in a two-leg final of the Women's Pluspetrol 2022," said the governing body of Peruvian football.
The controversy arose because the FPF stated in the women's tournament regulations that "the winning clubs of the Semi-finals 1 and 2 will have the right to play the final of the Women's League FPF 2022 in a single match organized by the FPF in the city of Lima," however, this decision was changed on Tuesday.
The first leg will be played this Sunday, September 25th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mansiche stadium, while the second leg will be on Thursday, October 6th, at 7:00 p.m. at Matute.
