This Sunday Sporting Cristal defeated Cienciano 4-1 at the Alberto Gallardo stadium for the 11th round of the Torneo Clausura and the one in charge of sealing the victory was Joffré Escobar, who also scored his first goal wearing the 'celeste' jersey.
The goal from the 25-year-old Ecuadorian forward came in the 92nd minute of the match after an assist from Irven Ávila from the center after a wall pass. The forward dribbled and finished with a low shot in front of the Cusco goal guarded by Miguel Vargas.
The ball found the corner of the second post and with this, Sporting Cristal was able to secure their 4-1 victory against 'Papá's' team, which also keeps them with high chances of winning the Torneo Clausura.
As a reminder, with this result Sporting Cristal remains as the leader in the Torneo Clausura standings with 24 points in ten matches, ahead of Atlético Grau with 22 points in eleven matches, Melgar with 18 points in seven matches, and Alianza Lima with 18 points in nine matches.
