Peruvian Sailor Wins World Championship
National sailor becomes world champion again.
Jean Paul De Trazegnies, Peruvian sailor, won the Sunfish 2022 World Championship.
The national athlete took home the gold medal in the competition held at Lake Di Garda in Italy, which brought together 94 participants.
"Happy with what I have achieved. We are world champions. I'm happy, I will continue training for the upcoming events. Thank you very much to the federation for always supporting," said Jean Paul De Trazegnies on the social media of the Peruvian Sailing Federation.
De Trazegnies, who had already been crowned world champion in this competition in 2018, surpassed Guatemala's David Hernández and Juan Maegli, who finished second and third, respectively, in the overall classification of the event.
The Peruvian champion has in his record the North American title he obtained this year. He also won the South American and Caribbean titles in 2014 and 2018, respectively. Additionally, this year he won the bronze medal in the Bolivarian Games Valledupar 2022.
