Víctor Hugo Carrillo warns the match commissioner, Alberto Castillo Mendivis, that an explosive has detonated in one of the stands of Inca Garcilaso de la Vega Stadium; enough reason to warn the attending public, as the safety of the fans in the sports venue was at risk of a lethal consequence.

Minute 13

Carrillo hears another pyrotechnic explosion and the same warning is heard through the stadium loudspeakers. One more, and it's over. Until that moment, the suspension of the match was hanging by a thread.

Minute 15

Víctor Hugo Carillo decides to conclude the match between Real Garcilaso vs. Universitario de Deportes for the Apertura Tournament after hearing a third explosion. He takes the ball and goes to the dressing rooms along with the referee team, declaring the match concluded.

What exactly happened?

When Universitario was moving the ball in a defensive position, Carillo, very energetic and determined, puts the whistle in his mouth, raises his hands and waves them from side to side, signaling the match suspension. For that reason, the referee walks to the technical area and meets with commissioner Alberto Castillo Mendivis to confirm his decision.

A few seconds later, Carillo leaves with his three assistants, while the players and coaching staff of both teams accompany him in his decision with their complaints.

Following the championship rules, the match between Universitario de Deportes vs. Real Garcilaso should be rescheduled within a maximum period of 24 hours. Everything indicates that it will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. behind closed doors.
