Last April, the Congress of the Republic authorized that the return of Fonavi 2022 will be definitively given; so that thousands of elderly contributors can benefit from their funds, in the midst of the health pandemic and price increases in Peru. Learn more below.
In recent weeks, the Ad Hoc Committee has compiled and ordered the payment history of the Fonavi contributors in order to determine the amounts owed by the former housing project for more than 19 years since its abolition.
When will the payment of Fonavi 2022 begin?
The Fonavi representatives have already delivered all the Certificates of Recognition of Contributions and Rights (CERAD), one of the last steps to make the refund effective.
According to Rommel Carrillo, coordinator of the accredited Fonavi Federation, in a period of three months the Ad Hoc Committee could make the refund to more than 2 million affiliates.
"We cannot yet give an exact date, but we believe that in a little over three months the process of returning the contributions to Fonavi contributors should already begin. There are several previous steps that must be taken," he added to the newspaper Exitosa.
Specifically, there would be 3 steps to take action: coordinating with the ONP for the total delivery of the work history of the Fonavi contributors. Then, the creation of individual accounts for each contributor. Finally, the management of the CERADs with the amount to be collected for each Fonavi contributor and thus begin the refund.
Fonavi Refund: How do I know if I will receive the refund?
Prior to delivering the accumulated amounts of Fonavi, it is necessary to process the request to enter the register. This is possible through the creation of an official government website.

Fonavi Refund: What is the amount?
According to the Newspaper El Peruano, the Fonavi refund law would deliver around 42,008 million soles to Fonavi contributors. It will be refunded based on what each member contributed and not as a common account.
- If a Fonavi contributor contributed for 19 years: they will receive an average of between 11,000 and 20,000 soles
- If they contributed less than 10 years to Fonavi: they will receive between 1,000 and 1,200 soles.
- If the Fonavi contributors who belong to the previous 19 lists have already collected, as part of the 2022 schedule, what was formulated will be deducted from them.
- It is included that the payments can be made in installments of up to 8 years.
The refund of the contributions is contemplated to be provided under the amount of 400 and 700 soles per contributor.
