In this way, Elías decided to take to the top of the Yanapaccha technical mountain located in Huaraz. A snowy mountain that is strategically located at an altitude of 5460 meters in the Cordillera Blanca between the Chopicalqui and Chacraraju mountains. From its summit, a 360° panoramic view of the surrounding peaks can be appreciated.

After two days of expedition, overcoming glacial transit and snow walls, but with a spectacular landscape on Sunday, August 22, the national reached the summit of the mountain at 8:35 am with the sun at its highest splendor. "It's an indescribable emotion," says Elías.

In the midst of this great feat, Elías didn't hesitate to take out what he had carefully kept among his belongings for this moment. "I had the desire to climb a mountain with the cream jersey for a long time, and I knew that someday that desire had to be fulfilled," he says with great emotion, adding that he had been thinking about this since he left Lima. The U's jersey flew in the wind at the mountain top in a gesture of a proud fan of his team. "It means a lot to me to have seen the club's jersey waving," he says.

Continuing with this adventure, Elías climbed another mountain today at 9:00 am. On this occasion, he reached the summit of Huarapasca, a snowy mountain to the south of the Cordillera Blanca at 5418 meters of altitude. Once again, as a tribute to his club, the Peruvian took out his cream jersey at this summit. "It's a tribute to the U, the club of my loves, the one I want to see always triumph inside and outside the country," he says. Now still in Huaraz, for Elías Calderón, this expedition is not yet over, and he plans to climb another mountain and continue carrying the Universitario de Deportes jersey with him.
