The Peruvian athletes continue to deliver joy to the country in international competitions.

On this occasion, Miguel Tudela was crowned champion of the World Surf League QS 5000 of the Arica Pro Tour (Chile) on Sunday.

The national athlete defeated his Brazilian colleague Ian Gouveia in a very exciting duel from start to finish. During the celebrations, he proudly displayed the Peruvian flag to the applause of the attendees at El Gringo beach.

Furthermore, the official Instagram account of the Arica Pro Tour congratulated the national surfer for this new achievement in his career. The championship highlighted that the last match was very close.

"The Peruvian rider manages to dominate over @iangouveia in a tightly contested final full of amazing rides, crowning the Tudela family as one of the dominant dynasties in the long history of our event (@tomastudelach champion 2017). Congratulations Miguel, well-deserved champion," it reads.

The triumph of the national athlete also went viral on social media, and users filled him with praise for bringing joy to the country.
