Universitario, Alianza and Cienciano: the stance of the three clubs on the TV rights bidding process.

Universitario de Deportes, Alianza Lima, and Cienciano have published a joint statement to point out that the clubs will be the main affected in the dispute that will begin regarding the broadcasting rights of Peruvian football.

Universitario de Deportes, Alianza Lima, and Cienciano, three clubs that belong to the Liga 1, joined together to release a statement related to the bidding process for the television rights of the local tournament that the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) would carry out in Chile. At the same time, the mentioned institutions indicated that they received an official communication from Gol Peru, on behalf of the Soccer Peru Consortium (CFP).

Regarding the latter, the 'U', Alianza, and Cienciano stated that the television station that broadcasts the domestic tournament matches, in the statement, "demand that we fulfill our contractual obligations".

So, knowing both positions, the two entities from the capital and the one from Cusco conclude that "we are about to enter an unprecedented conflict between the FPF and the television networks". In this sense, they consider that "the affected, punished, fined, and penalized will be the football clubs". However, they clarified that, up to now, all signatories of the document are "fulfilling each and every one of our contractual obligations".

In this scenario, Universitario de Deportes, Alianza Lima, and Cienciano indicated that if the FPF initiates that bidding process outside our territory, it will cause "a series of non-compliance events". As a result, the consequences will translate into "fines and sanctions", since the three have valid contracts.

And the effects could be much more complex, such as a possible "halt in the championship". This would result from the fight to secure TV rights and, as a result, the clubs would be in a scenario of "uncertainty" and "not knowing to whom we will give our facilities for the transmission of matches".

If such a context arises, the sports entities will be between a rock and a hard place because Gol Peru will demand compliance with the signed and valid agreements. At the same time, the FPF will request that the doors be opened "to fulfill the contract they signed with a third party".

Next, the 'cremas,' 'blanquiazules,' and reds conclude that "we are the clubs who will suffer the economic consequences of this unnecessary controversy". To avoid reaching those instances, "we urge the different actors to act responsibly and in strict compliance with our legal system".

Finally, Universitario, Alianza, and Cienciano clarify and state that "our clubs are not part of the negotiations and offers made by the FPF when demanding valid contracts".
