Teams from Liga 1 and Liga 2 play this tournament in their geographical areas, but in the coming weeks they will face opponents from other parts of the country.

The Promotion and Reserves Tournament promotes the participation of hundreds of 2002 category football players at a national level, from clubs of Liga 1 and Liga 2, who compete against each other in order to promote national football development in the category.

This championship is being played in geographical zones, according to the design made by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) for its first phase, but later there will be advanced rounds in which the teams will compete based on a playing system.

The FPF has announced the way in which teams will qualify in this season. The championship will be played in two rounds, with all teams playing against each other. There are 32 teams grouped in four series of eight, according to geographical zone.

The two best-placed teams in this group stage will qualify for the second round, called quarter-finals, which will be played in home and away matches.

After this round, the semi-finals and final will be played in a single match. The champion of the Promotion and Reserves Tournament will give a point to their professional senior team for the cumulative table, whether in Liga 1 or Liga 2.

This point could be decisive in their fight to achieve the season's goal.
