Juan Pablo Varillas (ranked 109th in the world) started off on the right foot at the ATP 250 in Kitzbuhel, Austria. The Peruvian tennis player advanced to the next stage of the competition after defeating Spanish Carlos Taberner 6-4 and 6-3.

The athlete showed strength in serves and receptions, despite the opponent's great ability. In the first set, he faced some complications, but managed to showcase his skills and come out victorious. In the second part, he also managed to overcome his rival.
