Juan Pablo Varillas (world No. 109) started on the right foot in the ATP 250 Kitzbuhel in Austria. The Peruvian tennis player qualified for the next stage of the competition after defeating Spanish Carlos Taberner 6-4 and 6-3.

The athlete showed solidity in serves and reception, despite the great ability of the opponent. In the first set, he faced some complications, however, he showcased his skill to emerge victorious. Then, in the second part, he was also able to overcome his rival.
