Last weekend the Clausura 2022 Tournament of Liga 1 began. The last championship of Peruvian soccer to determine which team will be the national champion at the end of the season. Melgar struggled to win in Trujillo against Carlos Mannucci, but they achieved their goal in the final minutes. Jhonny Vidales scored to continue their good streak in the 2022 Liga 1.
On the other hand, Alianza Lima does not want to leave the top four of the Accumulated Table, so they earned three crucial points in the heat of Piura. A 1-2 victory against Atlético Grau that keeps their hopes alive for winning back-to-back championships in 2022.
Finally, Universitario drew 1-1 against Academia Cantolao and moves away from the qualifying positions for international tournaments. They will have to work hard in the coming days to have a chance at being among the top eight in the Accumulated Table.
